    This translation is more correct. 1 Corinthians 7, New King James Version (NKJV), Principles of Marriage

    1 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.

    2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

    3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.

    4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.

    5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

    6 But I say this as a concession, not as a commandment.

    7 For I wish that all men were even as I myself (abstinent). But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.

    8 But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they remain even as I am;

    9 but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry.

      No,... I get a more perfect message from the NKJV. That is how it reads to me. But the Word is alive and it is not meant to speak to all people in exactly the same way, because the Spirit has to meet you where you are, and lead you forward from that point, and everyone needs a slightly different message to move them forward. If a passage is short, I will often read multiple bible versions to see how it reads differently. Most often I check NKJV, NIV, some Jewish and Catholic bible versions. I generally do not like the more recent bible translations wherein the translators seem to have taken too much liberty in bending the words to say what they want them to say. At least one of the Catholic bibles does this, in my opinion, and also some of the more modern Christian bibles. JMO I agree with your last sentence. I am in favor of whatever translation is the most accurate translation of Jesus' WORDS. In my opinion, some translations tried to put down what Jesus MEANT instead of simply translating the words correctly. In my opinion, that is prideful to say we know ALL that Jesus MEANT. I think it is safer to translate His Words as exactly as possible, and as far as the interpretation of the words goes - that should be between the Holy Spirit and the person reading.

    it all comes down to that we are all animals looking to survive and populate. You get married or live together you put your instinct aside because you have an emotional bond with one another or if you dont well it is because you have to financially or for the familly
