Learning As I Go

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for several months now and the things I've been learning that have led to miscarriages along the way have been totally surprising. So, of course I had been trying to maintain a healthy weight. I lost a good 30lbs before we started trying because I don't want to have an unhealthy body. I read that being overweight can impede the development of a fetus. Well, so I cut out a good portion of the caffeine I take in. I went from drinking a ridiculous amount to drinking a lot less and I'm still cutting back further.

After going through a miscarriage a couple of months ago, I just felt so bad. I didn't know what I was doing wrong. My husband started taking zinc to improve his fertility and I started taking folic acid to improve mine. THEN, I read that green tea actually impedes the development of an embryo by sapping folic acid away from it. I was shocked. At that time, I was drinking maybe 3-4 cups of green tea per DAY. So, this time around, I am not drinking any green tea and it's really hard because that is my absolute favorite beverage. We put in a really good try this time around and I really felt in tune with my body and cycle, but I won't know if all of the changes we made were successful this time around for another couple of weeks. I really hope that it happened because I really want to be a mother. Everything else seems to be falling into place and all we're missing is this one last thing.
