t's been more than a year since my Dad was killed. Most of the time I'm okay with it. Yesterday it hit me again. I was talking with a guy from work and telling him about it (I've been okay telling other people about it) and just couldn't help crying. I'm not ready to be done with the growing and living part of my relationship with my Dad. There is so much more that I still want to talk to him about. I want his wisdom and his experience. I want to have him be proud of me. I want him to be proud of his grandson.
It's still so hard. I've cried a lot about it, blogged lots about it and still it's so easily surfaced when I think about it. I feel that it will always be so easy for me to break down over it. I wonder when I won't cry so much when I think about it. It just doesn't seem real yet and the farther away from the accident, the more I forget what happened but still cry the minute I think of him not there. When will this grief that is so present lessen?
