Sounds Awesome

I met a girl last year that has traveled all over the country to different festivals over the last few years.  She said burning man was one of the best she's ever been to and I trust her opinion.  She said it was a sublime kind of experience.  I've been doing some reading about it and I wanna go.  It is out in the middle of a desert (Black rock desert I think) and people are supposed to undertake some kind of art project.  Some kind of expression.  It is about renewal and the man that they build and burn is supposed to represent that kind of recognition.

Hell yeah, thanks for the insider info. I think I would probably prefer music festivals too. That's freaking scary about the dead person. I guess sometimes people can't believe their eyes when they see something so their brain tells them it's something else.

meh, i have done burnign man twice and never really enjoyed it. there's a very clique-y feel to it, and i found it to be rather pretentious. alot of idle rich and whatnot. cool art though. i dont know if you heard bu thtere was a death this year-- apparent suicide. whats effed up about it is that the kids body was hanging from the "rafters" of this clubtent all nigth, and everyone just thought it was a very realistic decoration.<br />
for me, i like the music centric festivals. bonnaroo, all good, langerado, jam cruise, and of course, south by southwest. good stuff right there.

Oh I think I've seen one of his stories...I wonder if he is even real...he is the hardcore woman hater right? I think it would be best to let the negative energy stop with him and not carry it on. People like that are trying to spread negativity around and they usually succeed. He's mad so he spews a bunch of B.S. around and makes a bunch of other people mad, and they in turn let out their anger in other ways, etc, etc. I do believe in Karma and stopping negative chains of energy. The best way is to ignore someone who is spewing forth and trying to upset you. It's the only way to stop it. Turn the other cheek...

Will you do the world a favor and take lincolnlog with you and make him the burning man, he is the epitome of man...just ask him.

Cool, thanks for telling us about your experience...I'll be there someday, it sounds really awesome

The experience was totally amazing. We met other polyamorous families there, found kindred souls among the 50,000 people, enjoyed artists and art projects of insane magnitude.... way too much to list. It was life changing and beautiful. :) Blessings to you all.

I sure hope so...that's awesome you're going beah, wish I could be there...you're probably there right now come to think of it...hope you're having fun!

Hmm, maybe next year?!?! Ok, if not next year, at least in my life time.

I am headed there for the first time this year in just a few days! It is the first Burn for all 7 of us going from our area and we are very excited. I know it will be wild, fun, enlightening, and hopefully relaxing too. I can't wait to meet bunches of new people and experience temporary community on such a grand scale. :) Maybe you'll be there next year!

Those weather conditions sound like they might encourage people to keep their clothes on... or at least some of them...

I'm gonna have to save some money quickly LOL..it starts Aug 29th right?

Yeah I've heard it is something that keeps people coming back year after year. I would imagine it is clothing optional. I think it's pretty much anything optional though I hear there is not as much drug use going on as one might imagine. The weather conditions are harsh and you have to drink a lot of water just to stay alive.

Hmm, well shoot for next year and maybe you'll get there! That's what I'm doing.

Wow. Sounds interesting. I like to go to fests too but my life is on hold right now.

Doesn't look like it. There's always hope for next year though :)

Are you going to be able to make it?

www.burningman.com Aug 27 - Sept 3rd. :) Thought this info might be helpful! It sounds incredible.

Most definitely...I hope to make it this year...I think it's in early September.

Wow, we must be cosmic twins. I heard about it from this really interesting artist. I was working at that art store I've mentioned, and commented on his insanely cool pendant. He proceeded to tell me he got it at burning man. Then he told me a little about it and I was amazed, like "hey those are my people! What the hell am I doin in this Yankee hell-hole" I googled it and loved it even more. It seems very mysterious to me. Save me a seat on the bus if you go.
