Boys have a terrible taste in girls at that age. I know this cuz my middle school gf's nickname was the "Pimple Panda" xD

Everything's just fine with you and you have your own pace in life, just like everyone else.

Love appears in many different ways, not only in the romantic sense.

    Take it easy.

Focus on the stuff that you feel happy and comfortable doing right now, and everything else will fall into place in its own time, including having a boyfriend/girlfriend.

Let's take a step back and have a look at twelve year old boys... Do you think they've developed a mature, sensible taste in women yet? NOPE. Most of them haven't even finished puberty yet. Don't worry so much about having a boyfriend at your age. I was TOO worried about it (I didn't get my first boyfriend until I was sixteen) and I think it damaged my self esteem quite a bit. (Middle school relationships don't look like very much fun anyways.) For now, take that energy and focus it on something you like. Is it writing? Do you play a musical instrument or a sport? Maybe you haven't discovered your niche yet! Twelve is the perfect age for engaging yourself in all sorts of hobbies. By the time college rolls around, you won't have as many opportunities to explore all your interests because you'll have to find a way to tie everything to your major. Just put boyfriends on hold for a bit, but in the mean time, be outgoing and live every day to please yourself. By the way, this is coming from someone who is now engaged and about to enter the third year of a very happy relationship with a very attractive young man. ;)
