For Your Information

"A troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion" (wikipedia.org). "Trolls have no self respect and low self esteem, and cannot cope with normal human interaction" (flayme.com). "As passive-aggressive mentalities who can not express hostility in direct ways, the Internet allows them the perfect venue to vent" (webupon.com).

Such individuals are exactly analagous to a scab. The more you pick at it, the worse it becomes. Even if it is so irritating and itches for you to scratch, the best thing to do is ignore it. You may also wish to inform the site administrators of such behaviour.

If you need to know more, Google "DNFTT" (Do Not Feed The Trolls).

Plenty. She's a troll and we are feeding her. animals and ****** had notihing to do with any of your posts and yet she attacked you, now she's here defending her troll behavior by implying that she only trolls for trolls yet her comments and email to you are silent evidence unless broadcasted against her. I do hope you forwarded her email to EP - the topics she detailed are entirely too disgusting to be allowed to stand without judgment.
Thanks Morph, I have a better understanding now and though it will take time to train myself, I will do what I can to stop feeding (and being) the trolls.

What does that have to do with trolls?

I wrote this story in response to one written by a classic troll. People were replying and giving the oxygen of attention to them. I wanted to say something along the lines of "DNFTT", but even this was too much attention. So, from now on, whenever there is the need to kill a topic because of blatant troll activity, I will simply post the following-
Just that. Nothing else; no comments, no explanations. Let people make their own decisions about how to handle these energy sponges.
I notice that we cannot delete "their" comments from stories any more ! EP why did you remove the delete button?

Thanks for sharing that. =)
