'Bob Frost' actually has over 131,000 unused points.

Here's are some interesting facts to consider in this points for friends debate.

'Bob Frost' has13,071 friends, probably the most of any EP member. Since 2009 he has posted 24 Photos. I on the other hand deliberately keep my circle down to 20. That's a page full, and as many as I can maintain a meaningful relationship with.

Since I became a member in Feb 2011 I have posted 123 photo's of; a younger me, my family, paintings in my home, a couple of my fav old cars, my overcrowded bookcase and of course my garden.

I do sometimes wonder what drives 'Bob' to have so many friends. Or I think more appropriately 'circle members'.

It certainly doesn't appear to be the need for tokens to pay for his photo posting.

He has about 17,000 unused points.

Personally I would be happy if there were no points awarded for making friends. It is after all, reward in itself.

That is somethng we agree on - friends are rewarding in themselves. Circle members though, well they are just numbers.

It's more the more experiences you share, sure friending someone gets you some, but posting experiences, answering questions, commenting on others gets you more too.

Those things do get you points as well. My thinking is that those who contribute to the site in these ways are being disadvantaged by the system that allows "friend collectors" more points for what probably requires considerably less thought and effort.

So, ignore them, enjoy this site for what it's here for. Friend collectors are just antisocial and narcissistic, not realizing they are only harming themselves by not participating fully in the site.

I'm glad you wrote this Ava - I have up to now been mystified by the whole points / tokens business!

If you go to your profile page and click on my points there is a table of how to earn them.
Ep are still being coy as to how many points it takes to earn a token though.

EP. policy is not to tell us how many points e need to earn a token.
If you read my story 'come clean' I believe Arsenah makes this clear in her commeent. She added that EP likes to award tokens as a surprise!

Friendships on EP are important. When you make positive contributions and a member appreciates them and you both mutually decide to be friends, we celebrate that connection by rewarding you with points.

The more points you collect, the more tokens you'll be rewarded which can be used for sending virtual gifts and adding photo albums storage space.

If you have vacation pictures around a specific experience, consider sharing them within a group about the topic or vacationing in general. Sharing photos within a group, does not require any tokens.

Today I have two new fans. My profile clearly states that I am not here for cyber sex - yet both of these fans have mostly sexual experiences. One has 141 friends. the other over 500. Both recent activity lists are just members added as friends. This is surely not what Ep is about. You really need to rethink the points system.

I wondered if you make friends and then unfriend them do you lose the points?
