Functionality Changes And Defect List?

I commend the development team at EP. I know very well how difficult it is to manage content deployments.

With that, can I suggest a couple of things that might result in lowering the number of complaints?

First, when you deploy a functionality change, could you announce it? Arsineh posted a note about the header change, but her announcement was vague and didn't indicate when the change would be made.

Second, could you publish a defect list and when defects get fixed? That way we'd see all the stuff you guys are working on.

It's disorienting when functionality changes (like when you moved the Log Out link) and we don't know about it.

I actually liked the log out being in the drop down, 'cause I log myself out sometimes (a lot of times) on my iPhone by mistake. <br />

I do think what you've proffered here Pen are good ideas. Consistency is key.

Yes I like it too..(the drop down logout button)..I'm using an iPad. I couldn't find it at first but when i knew where it was, i was pleased. I see now it is back in its old place;( I am not complaining ....just pouting.... A bit;)

Good suggestion. With such a small team, it's difficult to keep track of all the issues on such a large site. But one thing we set up recently is a help forum at http://help.experienceproject.com/. This forum is designed to handle support and keeping track of issues better than the group structure in "I Want to Improve Experience Project", which is designed for story sharing and connecting, so hopefully if we start using that more perhaps information sharing will get better. I don't think it will be perfect, but perhaps some things will get better.

We agree that transparency is important. Though we posted a profile announcement about the the new location of the log out button, we recognize that it way unnoticed by many and caused frustration when members attempted to log out but couldn't find the button.<br />

We've reexamined this process and intend to improve this system for communicating changes, new features, etc. Since we recognize that even stories posted to the 'I Want to Improve EP' group and quickly get buried and pushed down as new stories are shared.

I'd be particularly impressed if the defects were fixed before more defects were introduced, I know all ever do is whine but it would be good!

This is actually easier said than done, as many of the "defects" are actually intended behavior. Trust me, it seems simple... but it's really not. They are doing their best, I'd just like improved communication.

The sort of things I mean are, the notifications going wonky everytime there's an update, people who haven't been jailed being suddenly unable to ask Q's, not being able to upload any pics at all to my profile, are these really intentional?

It's been friends who have had the issue posting Q's, I got them both to write a story here and it was resolved, many thanks for that, it would have been a loss to the whole of Q&amp;A if they had left because of this. The notifications go mad everytime there's an update, they work intermittently at the moment, it can take 3-4 minutes for you to be able to see what you are being notified of. My profile won't allow me to upload pics to my profile, nothing happens, it just doesn't work, there are no error messages, just nothing happens. Would love to see this stuff sorted, many thanks in advance.
