I spent hours on EP today, primarily on the Q&A, all of it from my cell phone. Every single question that came up on my screen was in the "Mature Content" group, including one from a child who wanted to know what high school would be like. Can't EP do any better than that?

EPArsineh could you return the "others" category. Some questions just don't fit with the ones relative to your selective options. I must ask how is the custom gesture suggestion coming along? :)

You haven't changed the categories in the filter options in the Q&A, so now we can't look up questions per category. We can only look up questions from before the change or go through the lot.

The filter options and the "category browser" module on the right side of the page will be updated with the new categories in a few days or perhaps a week or so. The reason why we chose to delay this is to allow the new categories to gather some steam before we change those links over.

In the meantime, you can find ALL questions that were categorized with the new categories under the old category called "Other".

Also, from the main page, anytime you see a question in the new category, right under the question is a link to the new category, so this is a way to see new categories.

As far as the "Kids" go. Here is the thing. A perv as so many like to refer them as are way more honest about who they are and what they are all about. That is a given. You have MANY kids coming on here who claim to be older than they are and doing things I see many are not liking. Talking to the adults as if they are almost adults and selling themselves as one thing when they are another. The thing is, no matter what "Things you put in place for the kids they are not going to do it UNLESS they want to. The kids today are cable ready and will have figured out a way around any block or device you put in place before you can design it. How do you get a kid to be honest with you when they ARE looking to converse as adults before their birthdays say they can on here. You can't. Plain and simple. I would prefer they didn't do that but they do. Make a space for them and THEN you will know where they are. Allow them to put themselves there and they will choose a spot the same as the adults. Many of the kids today are so far advanced than most of the adults when it come to computers anymore. How old was the person who sold you your last tech device? Food for thought. If it is pretty enough and is shinny enough the kids will know all about it before we adults even know there is one.So....Make a shinny spot for them. Use their human nature to your advantage. It is harder to figure out than you might think! Lots of luck!

Why isn't there one you can create yourself, much like the story itself? Not all stories "Fit" into what is offered. How about a "Created category" spot. Would be a catch all if you will. Like the dude said a place for what some call pervs and what others call people. If all stories just went in and followed the ABC's as being listed a person could just run down the ABC's and look for a category that way. Then they are self made and the folk would not feel so categorized. Funny, a self inflicted category. Just a thought! I expect nothing.

It would really help if the under 18 had a "community" that their Q&A's were directed to, like the mature section has. Not that anyone is posting anything bad. However, when it gets to the point you are having to check out each person and their age to make sure you don't post inappropriate to someone's age, it seems a little restraining and makes you want to find another place to vent, talk, play, relax. Sorry for the run on sentence.

I think there should be a mark of some kind next to an under age user to notify you of age at a glance (like a dot in the corner or something similar). And probably 'mature' posters too for that matter.

I now always check out the posters age before I post a reply. Some of these kids are asking questions that they need to be asking their parents or their doctor. And yes, there are some people posting some pretty bad things in Q&A. I'm open-minded but really the perverted responses some people post to children's questions and the outlandish questions children are posting to adults has gotten way out of line.

I'll have to disagree with the whole quarantining of under 18s, I think EP as a community IS a better place having the under 18s being themselves. In public places in real life, we don't see this kind of segregation, why would we want to see this happen on ep when it is a place of support. Where can a young person go to now days to ask for support or guidance from a collective group of people who may have the proper life skills and experiences to offer a good advice? It would be safer to ask in a public forum like ep at least they are in plain view of responsible adults. Despite EPs suspicious ethics and business practices, EP is driven by the collective nature of goodwill, support and understanding that this is what makes up EP, not the seedy underbelly or the sexual playground of the depraved, not the C grade level website design, but by the sum total of all the EP subcultures including the under 18s.

You improved it by removing options already there? That seems like you have missed the point. We asked for more catagories, now you have just made similar catagories harder to find under sub-catagories.

Not bad, but I prefer the old one over this one ... however it's needs additional tweaking to make it even better and I just don't have the answer for it.

It doesn't look like an improvement to me. Current Events and Other are gone. Please bring them back.

I asked for the categories Computers and History, but they aren't there. A lot of stuff on Q&A is arguments over history.

    I don't see Mature.

I was a little concerned at the small number of categories but then saw the large number of subcategories. I think this is a nice improvement. I think there should be one under education. It isn't always kids asking for help with their homework. There are adults who ask some really good questions about educational options for them. And we need a mature topics area for all the pervy questions that really DON'T want to see in romance or intimacy. Some people post some really perverted stuff. Plus we need a category for the children. I'm really tired of the under 18 year olds posting crazy crap in the Q&A section that is meant for adults. Some of their posts are worst than the perverted adult posts. Give the kids their own pool to play and splash around in. Just a thought. Thanks.

the new categories are interesting and I believe is better than the previous incarnation, but under "friends and family" the "loss to...." should be classified under "health and wellness"
