We Who Love Contact

I like to try and keep in contact by some form of communication with those that i friend, but sadly this isnt always, 99% of the time, reciprocated. Maybe an auto delete device should be settable on our freinding system that kicks in on 'no contact' after a set period of time. That may help us contact each other and be contacted.
Of course everyone would be made aware of this reply or loose system so it became their responsibility to maintain some form of contact. So if they loose a contact they can only blame themselves. The opportunity to refreind or send a message would always be openly available in this idea.

Always thinking of a solution and I like that. Very impressive if I may say so. I totally understand what you're getting at but.....Sometimes I feel as if I'm bugging my contacts? I see them online and I usually wait for them to contact me. I feel bad when I say hello and there's times I'm left there hanging. Not a good feeling.

I don't agree with an auto-delete. Maybe you could send us a message saying "So-and-so has not contacted you in six months" but certainly not an auto-delete. And sometimes we communicate by commenting on each others' stories rather than by private messages.

yeah ok, but just a form of encouragement that maintains a need to keep in contact with those in our circle. Commenting on a story of them would fill that requirement. An auto delete on no contact would be an encouragement to keep some type of contact in place, otherwise members just sit in other members groups and stagnate out of our memory, and a recontact arrangement and need would prevent this.

For good friends who leave EP for a good while while retaining their accounts, it's desirable to still be friends when they return.

Thanks for sharing this idea. We are currently reviewing the friending/adding to circle process as well as looking at better ways to sort your friendships on EP. We'll keep your idea in mind as we work to make improvements to this area.

I think the comments you are making is already showing how good this idea would be. You would certainly be concious of the need to keep in contact with others!
