Multiple Copies Of Stories

I posted this as a pet peeve too.

I've noticed several times, when checking out a member I've run across for the first time, that the member has just recently joined EP, but already belongs to hundreds of groups and has already written hundreds of stories. Digging a little deeper, however, reveals that these members have actually written perhaps as few as half a dozen different stories, then posted each one to many of the hundreds of groups they've joined.

Do they get points for the same story each time they post it?

Do their token totals climb as a result of the number of points they have?

Seems to me people like this are "gaming the system"...

I think posting in two categories max is the way to go. I agree that some people just stick the same one in similar groups and it's annoying because it spams a person's feed if they belong to several groups that are similar.<br />
Thanks for noting that we should only post a story one time, Arsineh.

I would prefer we be allowed to post a story to as many as 5 different groups. I agree that posting the same story dozens of times is ridiculous. But I see no harm in several times.

Though I never tried doing multiple copying, I never realized that it violates EP's TOS. Thanks for sharing.

I flag them as spam, both the profile and all the stories I can be bothered to that are the same, EP does usually wipe these spam accounts within a few days.

Members are asked to post each story only once. We know that it can often be relevant for multiple groups, but in cases like those we ask that you pick the best match.

Members who repeatedly post the same stories across the site are violating our terms of service and may be suspended or permanently removed from EP.

I, too, have encountered this annoyance. I've also seen persons doing the same with comments; the same thing cut-pasted as dozens of story comments. Is it reasonable to assume flagging is the recommended option for both of these irritations?
