"Suspend" Activity

I love this site and its many excellent user features, which are always being tweaked and improved. One I would like to see is the ability to temporarily "suspend" the activity shown for users in one's circle. Since we only have so much space on our profiles to see our friends' activitites, when one of them is on a posting frenzy (which, as much as we love them, does happen), that space fills up and what the rest of our circle has been posting gets lost. The ability to suspend a friend's activity without having to remove them from one's circle would be an excellent feature. Thanks for considering!

I always feel like I'm out of the loop, but I think this would help here! ;D

Your right Nyx! I miss so many stories/comments ect. written my friends, sometimes I just feel like I am out of the loop!

I've often wished for the same thing!!! A temporary stop. Great suggestion!

Arsineh, I've done that, but I miss out on the friends only blogs. That's when I sometimes learn what's really going on with someone. One other "problem" (I hate calling it such) is the more prolific friends also have tons of friends and their comments to the many posts fill up the activity board that much quicker and longer. I really, really would love to have the temporary suspension for those times when a post takes on a life of its own but I don't have time to follow it.

Thank you, Arsineh. Removing people from my circle just for occasional excessive posting seems rather drastic, so if a suspend type feature is technically possible, I think that would be a great compromise. Thanks again for your consideration, and to the entire EP team as well for all you do!

Thanks for the suggestion! We'll discuss this at our next engineering meeting. For now, if a member's excessive postings bother you, you can consider temporarily removing him/her from your circle. Though I realize you may not want to remove a member from your circle it's important to note that one of the main benefits of becoming EP friends is to get access to a member's recent activity on your feed.

I'm frenzied. I just can't type fast enough.
I do like this idea. I hope EP sees it and seriously considers it. I hate having to remove a friend from my circle for this reason, but I've done it. :-(

Hahaha, lilt. And I'm sure they appreciate that.
I'm all for exuberance. And if the activity list could be expanded further, it wouldn't be a issue because you could just page back. So under the existing user parameters, temporary suspension would seem to be the best solution for everyone if it were possible.

Wasn't me! I reserve my frenzies for my family.
