That's a pretty cool idea--then there'd be no question as to who's who, who's actually been active, and who you don't really want to interact with. I'm not sure how hard it'd be to get the names to show up in different colors for different people though.

I submitted this suggestion last year, I don't know why it is taking so long to implement:

Currently all usernames are shown in Navy.

If the user is under 18 or has blocked me, display their username to me in Red everywhere on the site.

If I have blocked the user, display their username to me in Yellow.

If we are friends, display their username to me in Green.

Other than the above, if the user has not been seen on the site in over a month, display their username in Fuschia.

True, but even after a year?

I'm sure it happens, but my guess is the majority of people who haven't been here for a year probably aren't coming back. Or if they do, they might just make a new account.

I definitely understand wanting to make sure everyone who's been here still has a place (an account, a profile) to come back to though.

That is true Arsineh. I wouldn't want some of the many great stories to be deleted just because their authors haven't been on in forever. If I remember right, there is an option with deleting an account to keep all the stories on the site, isn't there? Couldn't the same thing happen if old accounts were cleared out? But I do understand about wanting to make sure everyone whose been here has a place to come back to. I just wonder about those accounts whose profiles are pretty much empty.

I definitely understand the reason for wanting to keep them all too though.

Thanks for sharing this this! I understand your point but many inactive accounts can still have a big impact on peoples lives.

An inactive member may have invested a lot of time in writing stories and by preserving them or allowing inactive accounts to remain on the site we allow these stories to continue to touch and benefit others who read them even if the original author has left the site.

Also, EP is home to many and we want to always give members the option to return to their account. as they left it, after a short or even long break.
