Wow! Church was amazing this morning! I just had to write about it!
We all have to have a champion spirit. No matter what we're going through, we need to let God take control of it, and say that with His help, we are all champions. Even if He doesn't answer a prayer as soon as we think He should, He knows His plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11), and He will answer when He knows we are ready.
My pastor also made us realize that God rarely gets His way. If you think about it, it's totally true. If He always did, there would be none of the crap going on this world that there is. He doesn't want us hurt and suffering, but wants us to be well and prosperous. However, we as humans don't listen to Him most of the time (generally speaking, of course). What parent wants their child to be in any kind of pain, and what child always wants to listen to their parents?
This doesn't have anything to do with this morning's sermon, but I was thinking about Obama earlier, and I know I don't support many, if any, of his beliefs/politics, but I will support him as our president and pray for him. God can do miracles and change him, his beliefs, and his politics. He made promises of legalizing partial-birth abortion, homosexual marriage, etc, but he doesn't have to follow through with those (even though it would make a lot of people mad, but hopefully as Christians, we will stand up and fight for what's right). It does sound like he's wanting to try something different economically, and I don't know if I agree with it or not yet. I do think we need to try some stuff until this country gets back up on its feet economically speaking, and hopefully that is his true goal with his plans. Bush only did what he thought would help the country at the time. No, it didn't end up working, but at least he tried. All of us have to admit that Bush did the best he could with what he was given. He took us to war to defend our country, probably thinking that it wouldn't take as long as it has, and it just didn't happen the way he thought it would. That's going to happen with any president, though. However, Bush was at least trying his best. Whether it was right for our country, people can and will debate that all day, but I would think that for the most part, it's not debatable that he tried his best. Everybody makes mistakes-including the president. I hate how we think the president has to be perfect and make no mistakes within our country, but it's going to happen. Look at any president and you will find mistakes. I just pray that Obama will try his best to do what's right for OUR country. Hopefully you'll be praying, too.
I also do have a prayer request. There is a lady that used to rent from us, and I just found out that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She has seven cathaters in her left breast, and she's going through, or about to be going through, radiation, and I believe she said she starts chemo in January. Please keep her in your prayers. She has a 15 yr. old, a 13 yr. old, and a 7 yr. old, if I remember correctly. Please remember her when you pray tonight. Thank you!
I pray that God keeps you well, and that you have a blessed and wonderful day! All is well, no matter the circumstances, because God is there with you! Love you guys!
