With the Lights On

About 8 years ago, I was dating a guy I'll call "Theo". We were out with some friends, "Ken" and "Katie", (not their real names) and were discussing what we would change about our bodies if we could. I admitted that I'm embarrassed about some scars I have and I'd like to lose some weight. Katie agreed that she'd like to lose some weight too and her husband, Ken laughed and said, once you turn out the lights, none of that matters. Theo looked at me with his beautiful dark eyes and said he would love my body even with the lights on, because he loved ME.

I wish I could say we got married and lived happily ever after, but he had a twelve year old daughter that didn't want to share him and was very jealous any time he dated. He finally said he wouldn't date anymore until she is grown and on her own. We've lost touch, but I'll always remember the sweet things he said.
