or some reason, many people seem to think that WhtKnt stands for "What Knot." I'm sorry, but no. So to clarify the mystery once and for all, I'll tell the story here.
This goes back a looooong way, to the dark days before there was an Internet. (Yes, I'm old. Deal with it!) When I was a youngster, just getting my start in computers, the way that people got together as a virtual group was by way of a central hub called a Bulletin Board System (BBS). The whole package was usually hosted on someone's computer at their home and people would log on and things worked very similarly to the way the Net does today.
Anyway, I've always been a huge fan of fantasy and science-fiction. I'd always felt that if I lived in a fantasy world, I would be a knight in shining armor. Thus, I used The Knight of the White Rose as my signature on the BBSes I used to frequent. I would often sign short messages or responses as just "White Knight."
My first taste of the Internet was via AOL, and my screen name on that system was WhtKnt (I could not use White Knight because we were limited to eight characters and no spaces). So, ever since then, I've been known by that handle.

 Feeling sick  | Posted Nov 30th, 2008 at 11:02AM That's too cool. BBS were amazing weren't they? And we use to get what, 5 hours of AOL a month for 20$. DL everything at night during non-peak hours. I think the first game I bought was Zork. It was amazing!   |

Google me and almost every result not dealing with TechKat the business is me. What can I say? I'm a fan of all things techy and a friend of mine started calling me Kat and it just kinda caught on~ Now days (not that I'm even old enough to use terms like that!) I'm more of EcoKat or something. Wind power is amazing XP |
