I wasted half my youth an adulthood as a smoker and my lungs will never recover completely. I would say never start!!!

I am 46 and I started smoking at 15. I quit about 10 years ago. After 21 years or so of smoking, I now am on oxygen 24/7. I have Asthma and COPD. I also have Coronary Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure.......and I know without a doubt smoking definately contributed to all 4 of them. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you do smoke, better stop right now. I will be the first to tell you that carrying around a CO2 Canister everywhere I go is embarassing, inconvienent and now I have Arthritis in the Neck and Shoulders, due in part to carry that weight of the CO2 around everywhere. It is my own personal Ball & Chain. Oh and by the way, those of you who smoke, you smell like a dirty ashtray, most peoples teeth and fingernails are yellow, their clothes, hair, body, car, and home smells like a dirty ashtray as well. So why would you let a small ob<x>ject such as a Cigarette do so much damage to you and your life? In case you haven't heard.....for the US Deaths from Smoking: 440,000 per year, 36,666 per month, 8,461 per week, 1,205 per day, 50 per hour, 0 per minute, 0 per second.

amen right down the line

I would advise myself<br />
not to smoke<br />
not to drink<br />
not to marry my ex

I would tell myself at 16 not to stress so much about God as they will find you when you are open. As i have been searching since then and have only now been comfortable with it all and ny place in the scheme of things.

Could have won the lottery by now on the money I wasted, lol

Very well put! Another note to add, think of the money wasted. I really don't even want to know how much I spent over the years till I finally quit...
