My Childhood Phobia

i used to have this strange phobia every new years eve that once it turned midnight, the world would turn black and white and everyone would turn really mean and serious and that society would break down. by year 2000, i assumed that if it wouldn't happen that year it probably never would, so i gave up on the idea of it happening. it was weird though because it used to really freak me out the last week of every year until i was nine. i'm not even sure where that fear came from. it just appeared one year........
