I figured since my parents believed in the existence of God so strongly, they had to have a good reason for it. After trying to reconcile contradictions within their religion for years, I asked them about it and found there was none. Seeing as the burden of proof lies on those believing in the existence of something and I have not yet heard a good argument for the existence of a god, there is no reason for me to believe in the existence of one.

You look like someone who refuses to understand something that is beyond your reach. Tsk,it's people like you that always wants "material" evidence in things unknown! Well sorry bub, it doesn't work that way.
