You Have a Melancholic Temperament

Post it now!

Introspective and reflective, you think about everything and anything.
You are a soft-hearted daydreamer. You long for your ideal life.
You love silence and solitude. Everyday life is usually too chaotic for you.

Given enough time alone, it's easy for you to find inner peace.
You tend to be spiritual, having found your own meaning of life.
Wise and patient, you can help people through difficult times.

At your worst, you brood and sulk. Your negative thoughts can trap you.
You are reserved and withdrawn. This makes it hard to connect to others.
You tend to over think small things, making decisions difficult.

I believe Melancholia is an essential part of true artist.

why thank u...i suppose sadness can be an artist's muse!

I remember hearing this term many years ago in a Catechism class, of all places. The four groups were the sanguine, choleric, melancholic and phlegmatic. No formal tests to determine the student's type was ever given, so I just picked the one I wanted to be: sanguine. That name was the least threatening, if you think about it. A choleric would have too much stomach trouble (think cholera). A melancholic would be melancholy, and who wants to be sad all the time? And phlegmatic? The term reminds me of the word "phlegm", and I didn't want to be that stuff you cough up when you have a cold, so sanguine it was! I distinctly remember that they said that most of the saints were melancholics. So you can rest alot easier, my friend. You're already in with the "in crowd"!

thanks i feel elevated for some
