Turn Offs

These are in no particular order:

  • Cell phones. I don't want to see it, hear it, or know that it exists.

  • Cigarettes. Goes without saying why.

  • People that think they're better than someone else.

  • Materialistic people. I don't care what kind of clothes you wear, what you drive, etc.

  • Cursing. It's just not attractive.

  • Complainers. Jeez, find something good to talk about.

  • Attention-******. You're not the center of the universe.

I agree on all points except the first 2. Not all people who use cell phones talk loudly and about nothing in particular. So I have no problem if someone checks their phone while we are together. I think most smokers are not in your face and realize they have an addiction that bothers many people. I believe toleration is the key point. <br />
<br />
As with your other points, in moderation they are tolerable, its when its in your face everyday, shoved down your throat its just too much.

Yeah, for me, it's not "out of sight -> out of mind" but more "out of sight AND out of mind."<br />
<br />
If I know that it exists, then I'll dwell on it, so it's not really out of mind just 'cause I don't see it. So while I don't think it's right to say "they're evil and always bad", I feel they are a convenience that should be reserved for when they are really, really needed. Otherwise, yeah, I'm disgusted by them. <br />
<br />
This is the less-concise version.

I agree with everything but first line got me: "I don't want to see it, hear it, or know that it exists." LOL.<br />
<br />
I could feel smoke coming out of my head when I see someone whips out his cell phone and starts talking loudly about nothing! It happens a lot too.<br />
<br />
I mean, sneaking a few check ups with significant others are fine by me, or emergencies like car keys gone missing... but chatting loudly in public places just for the heck of it? Grr.

agreed with all points. nice one.
