Invictus By W.e. Henley

OUT of the night that covers me,

Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbow'd.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.

How truly wonderful it is to be able to discribe the courage and strength against such adversities in our lives, leanrning and knowing how to cope though the arkest times in our lives

haha It's ok with me. I like feed back and always like seeing what you have to say. I do agree with what you posted though.

I use to like the words "I am the master of my fate". I know longer phrase it as such though. I understand the heart behind it and agree as such. It's the literal translation I don't like. There are so many things we don't controll that helps to determine out fate. Now I just say "I'm the master of my decisions and actions" for this I know is true. Life has prooven to me that I'm not the master of my fate as much as I'm the master of what I do with what fate brings to my doorstep.
I believe their are three VERY strong forces in life. Love, hate, and attitude. Attitude is greatly responcible for our fate in life. Attitude often is what makes us choose one of the first two greats between love and hate. Attitude often is what maeks us give up or move on. Attitude often is what dirves our world veiw (once mixed with our knowledge/beliefes).
LOLOLOL Okay sorry. :-) I'm starting to write a post within a post. Geeeeeeeeeeesssssssshh. My bad :-)
I just love most of your post is all and feel okay posting within them I guess. I appreciate and love your postings and veiw with great respect.

Glad you liked it :D

I REALLY like this one PT. I have never heard this before, thanks for sharing this =)

Me too rescue. This is only my favorite at the moment. I love the last two lines especially.

I can't pick a favorite. In this task, I must admit is a futile one for me. My favorite depends on the circumstance I'm in at the moment. I draw wisdom from not the words as much as I do the intent of heart of the words I see or hear. My favorite changes as often as the southerly winds.
