Hands Down...

Socklord wins.  He is such a delightful bundle of contradictions.  He surprises me over and over with different facets of his personality.  His sense of humor, his wit, and his intelligence are what first drew me to him, and then I discovered all the wonderful parts of him, that I never expected.

I admit I had him stereotyped by the stories he wrote, and the conversations we had here, and there was a time when I almost wrote him off completely.  But...he stepped in at a moment in my life that was so bad, I prayed daily for death, and he was just there.  Being exactly what I needed at that moment.  After I got through that, I took a second look at him...and noticed that beneath the surface was so much more than I had first seen.  He is truly a gift to me.

There are however, two men here who deserve honorable mention:

Firegod74 is remarkable.  He can talk about anything with intelligence, and humor.  He is kind and thoughtful, and he is a wonderful listener.  He has been my friend through many trying times, and he once glued my broken heart back together.  I think I will always know him, for my whole life.  While the friendship has grown and changed over the last couple of years, I appreciate him more everyday, for being who he is.

My other honorable mention goes to SomeGuyYouKnow.  I can't even find the words to describe what an amazing man he is.  He has a reserve of inner strength that not only serves him, but has served me once or twice as well.  I can't believe that I was fortunate enough to not only find him here on EP but get to know the real guy behind his profile a bit.  He is a true friend, who makes the hard times easier, and the easy times...better.  I thank God for SomeGuy all the time.

I know there are hundreds of other wonderful men here on EP, but I believe that these three have made my life more complete...and just better.
