Bill Frisell is excellent ... I love his work - he can be so edgy - or more up to the edge, then he always pulls back ...<br />

Townsend and Clapton are good - I like Pete better for his songwriting than his playing (though he has this crunchy sound at times that is really cool) and he really could play. And no one can accuse Clapton of being a slouch.<br />

I think your grouping might need Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix to round it out!

Peter Townsend, Eric Clapton and the guy who died recently who used to sing nothing but the blues. Cannot for the life of me remember his name.
