"Alicia, does our relationship warrant long-term commitment?  Because I need some kind of proof, some kind of verifiable empirical data."

[Laughs nervously]  "...I'm sorry...  Just give me a moment... to redefine my girlish notions of romance.  A proof?  Verifiable data.  Okay.  Well, how big is the universe?"

"Infinite."

"How do you know?"

"Because all of the data indicates it."

"But it hasn't been proven yet?  You haven't seen it.  How do you know for sure?"

"I don't.  I just believe it."

[Shrugs]  "It's the same with love, I guess...  [Long pause as he thinks this over]  Now... the part that you *don't* know, is if I want to marry you."

    True. I really enjoyed the twist in the film, the way that we experience his disorientation with him, in that we don't know about the hallucinations when they first start happening.

    This is one of my favorite movies, as well. It's amazing what he accomplished.

    Crowe and Connelly acted their socks off in this one. Oscars were deserved, without a doubt. I saw it for the first time just a few days ago. Instant favourite. Director Ron Howard's "Cinderella Man" also stars Crowe, and another of my favourite actresses, Renee Zellweger, and is well worth a look if you enjoyed this.

    I love that movie. Strangely I was thinking about which films might become the new "Classics" and that one crossed my mind.
