Ay Dios Mio...err

When we were both tired of "seeing other people" and realized we wanted eachother the whole time, we went to celebrate. So funny how after all that time together we still got nervous for nights out (love eh?) Anyhow, I had this night planned to the letter! I never planned ****, and have not since. Have some drinks with some friends in the early evening (keep it light) go to our special little spot we eat at once a month, go to her favorite, spot in La Jolla, and then go 'home'...ya know. The plan was to speak only spanish to her at La Jolla cove, she is Mexican too ya see.

I am a bit of a drinker, I was young and drunk. So the moment arrives, we are sitting on this series of rocks just watching some lazy sea lions, seals whatever those chubby guys are called. I'm nervous the woman who has been by my side since 15 and I'm still nervous...Here comes the romantic spanish. "What? Eric, are you ok? Babe, you need to lay down, ERIC no one including me can understand you!"

My romantic moment of spanish had become drunken rambling. I remember it all. So it must be true that drunks hear what they want, cause in my head it sounded sincere, sweet, and it WAS rare for me to ever even try to do something like that. She said through the years it was "sweet" that I tried and would playfully tell friends and family about it. I hated the fact she did that, it makes me look like an idiot. Why tell cyberspace? She is my ex now, and I look like an idiot regardless. Someone will get a chuckle out of this. Suave huh?
