Mighty Oaks From Little Acorns Grow!

I had my first Tai Chi lesson today! It's deceptively strenuous-seemed easy then, but a few hours later I'm aching in places I didn't know I had. The ambience is somewhere between a yoga or Pilates class and a typical martial arts class, but with fewer bruises. Lots of analysis of simple movements, and adding a little every time. You know those kids' songs where you add something every time? "One finger, one thumb, keep moving" becomes "One finger, one thumb, one arm,one leg,a pat on the head, stand up,sit down, keep moving"? Well, the teaching is rather like that. The instructor(got a good one!) said not to be surprised if we couldn't remember any of it at first. You know what? I can't!

Some Chi Gong to come later,in support of the Tai Chi. I'll let you know how it goes.

MomInAlaska? Are you by any chance Sarah Palin?

When I took an Jin Shin Do Accupressure class in Alaska, I learned some "Chi Gong" which was also helpful in balancing my body.
