Finally Losing Weight!

My whole life, I've been overweight. Kids would beat me up and pick on me in school for my size. I'm already in my second year of college, and I've never had a boyfriend or been invited to a party. I have the lowest self-esteem imaginable, and I have always wondered what life would be like if I were skinny.

I know I'll get a lot of backlash by saying this, but the main change I've made is cutting down drastically on my food consumption. I've made it a goal to consume between 800-1000 calories per day, and so far it's working. I've been doing it for two weeks now, and with the help of exercising and eating healthy foods when I do eat (I've gone on a pescatarian diet, meaning the only 'meat' I'll eat is fish [unless it's a special occasion]), I've managed to lose quite a bit. I'm not certain how much I've lost yet, because I don't own a scale (the last time I've checked, it was 230), but I'm able to fit into old jeans now, so I know I've lost some. I'm bought a scale that should be here by Friday, so I'll get the official number then.

The less you eat, the smaller your appetite gets and the less you crave food. I don't think I'm even capable of consuming as much food as I used to in one sitting, because I just don't have the desire to. Of course, I don't like consuming TOO little calories (400-600), so if I find I haven't eaten enough, I'll have some trail mix or raisins to raise it up a bit, even if I'm not that hungry.

Usually for the day:
For breakfast, it is usually some light yogurt and a banana, or cottage cheese.
For lunch, I just have a SlimFast (because I get too lazy to cook around lunch time.) or a frozen Lean Cuisine meal.
For snacks, it is usually pickles or granola bars.
For dinner, I will eat whatever my family is eating, but in much smaller portions  (and cutting out the meat). OR, if I am on my own, I'll make something simple. For example: mix some tuna with some hot sauce and celery and spread it between two pieces of toasted wheat bread. Or boil/scramble/poach an egg or two with some toast and put some broccoli on the side.
As far as drinks go: I've cut down on my soda drinking quite a bit (and the only kind I'll drink now is diet), so the main thing I drink is plain water. I will drink juice and milk, but not every day.

The first week or so was pretty hellish. I was craving food like crazy. But after a few days, you start to desire food less and less. Yes, I still get hungry, but not as often, and it takes a LOT less to fill me up than it used to. When I put on my belt and saw that I was able to fit it down three holes, I was ecstatic.

I know for every person it is different. However, for me, there is no special  "diet" I follow. The pescatarian thing is just so I won't have to worry about calorie counting and "guessing" when it comes to meat, because I don't want to take any chances (And to be honest, I don't really have much of a desire for meat anymore). It's just walking, eating less, and eating healthier. That's pretty much it.
