Joining WW is a good start. Their programs were always sensible when I used them. Walking is also a good way to start. You'll have to find a way to stay motivated with both eating and exercising, which means you will ultimately need to find things you enjoy eating within your plan, and exercise you enjoy doing. Getting started is the first big barrier...and you're doing that. Keep at it. Next step: clear your home of things you shouldn't be eating. Good luck! (And feel free to email if you need some encouragement.)

I know beer will gain you weight.<br />

I think there are other issues that need addressing first like your self image. What happened during your childhood? Find a way to resolve that first. Then you can focus on improving your exterior.

Reaching out, like yo have here, is very important. This is very hard to do it alone. Thee are all sorts of assistance in the form of groups ans well as counseling for both nutritional and emotional purposes that can help you on your journey. I suggest that you explore those as well to help you in achieving your goals!
