Lose Weight, Stop Drinking

I am going to lose 20-30lbs by June. Today is 3/21/09

My current weight is 260 and ideally I would like to be at 220 or less. January 2008 I was recovering from surgery and weighed in at my all time high of 280 (I'm 6'2' btw). So, I lost 20lbs already.

I have been exercising semi-regular for about 1 year now, getting back in shape, but I think my drinking is holding me back. I drink 2 or 3 beers everyday. So, I am going to stop drinking and increase my workouts from 2-3 times a week, up to 5 times a week. Sometimes I will drink a whole bottle of wine.

I'm gonna post my progress here.  If anyone wants to do the same thing then post here too if you want. So far this is my third day without drinking.

I think I went 20 days with no drinking, and lately about 10 days while I had a bad cold. By the beginning of July I am down to 240-245 and still drinking a bit. I am down to the last hole in my belt and had to buy a new pair of jeans, took 4 inches off my waist size. I seemed to have plateaued at the same time I started dating a woman, and now that we broke up I should be able to get back on track. I want to lose another 20lbs by the end of the summer.
