Honey Badgers Don't Care

I gave my son a book for his birthday about Honey Badgers. Impulse buy. It was on a book rack at the counter at HMV and I grabbed it when I was picking something up for my daughter. We had seen and loved the video Honey Badger The Most Fearless Animal On Earth (search it up on youtube) and the Honey Badger was now his favorite animal. He read the first page he turned to, out loud, and it had the 'f' word in it. Upon close inspection, the book WAS about honey badgers and how badass they are as animals, but the language wasn't quite appropriate. Inside I wrote an inscription that said something like "Be like the honey badger. Don't be afraid to just be yourself", Not one of my best moments.

I don't know whether to giggle about the unfortunate mishap or give a heartfelt smile at the obvious pleasure you take in doing things with and spending time with your children. You're a gem, Geetar.

The original Honey Badger videos are full of expletives. "Honey Badger doesn't give a ****!"

I thought this was somewhat funny actually. Every now and then, we accidentally expose our kids to adult material, threatening their innocence. Usually, it's harmless and amusing.

This could be a great learning opportunity. Instead of being frustrated with the author, or yourself, simply explain that in life, things aren't always what they appear to be.

  Thanks and yes it was a bit awkward but also funny. I should have looked through it first but assumed, since it was prominently displayed, it was ok. Having it right at the cashier made it an impulse buy and it came home and got promptly wrapped. Oh well. Great book nonetheless.

Awwww.....In the moment it didn't feel so good....for you...he probably got a total kick out of it. I agree with foolishme tho.....this will become one of those priceless memories you'll all laugh over thru the years. Honey badgers do ROCK!!

  I was laughing. It was an honest mistake and the look on everyone's face was priceless. It was a great book nonetheless and well worth the price of admission to that show.
