Basically I don't get the whole thing between Transgender and Transexual. I kinda get the basics but if their was one or the other (so sorry for wording like that) or really anyone who could explain it to me better it'd be great.

Hi Jessica, don't worry there are lots of people who get confused with all the terms flying around.

So firstly transgender is what I would say is the umbrella term encompassing lots of types of gender esq groups from transsexuals, transvestites, crossdressers ect, basically any type or form of gender reversal. it's a little like saying you want vegetables but not being specific.

Now the specific transgender groups are more complex and there are a lot of them. a Transexual is someone who is undergoing or undergone sexual reassignment to correct their gender. Hence why you get both post and pre-op transexuals. They can also be someone who relates to the opposite sex from which they were born.

I hope this helps if you have any more questions feel free to ask

I wouldn't disagree with that completely but some crossdressers do feel they were or perhaps are born in the wrong body. Not everyone though wants to progress admit or change and move on the the next step.
But the term transgender is applied to the art of making ones self appear to be of the opposite gender and hence can also include a range.
As with most things it's all open to slight interpretation and I'm no way saying that I'm 100% correct just what Iv seen and learned from my years of working in LGBT groups. X
