I'm forwarding this to my daugher in MI who has had constant sinue trouble for years. And I will try the water 'cure' although I have to admit that much water at one time is daunting. Thanks so much.

My home remedy is almost silly it's so simple. Six children in our family. When we were sick, my mom would give us ginger ale. If we couldn't eat, she would make a float by adding ice cream. We loved it. Years later I read a study which claims ginger ale is indeed good for you when you're sick as it balances your electrolytes. I have no idea how my mother knew it was beneficial.

Is that a half a lemon per 8 oz. drink for a total of two whole lemons? Or a half lemon for all 32 oz.?

The amount of lemon is not too specific. Some people use one good squeeze, or you could use 1/4 of a lemon or 1/2 of a lemon. Lately I have been using 1/2 lemon per 16 oz. glass, then drinking another glass (8 oz.) because I have discovered that, for me, the two 16 oz glasses are too much water. Now I have a big (16 oz. ) glass with a half lemon squeezed into it. Then I drink another, slightly smaller, glass of water. Then I wait about 45 minutes to eat. The idea is that when you put lemon juice into water, whether it is a large or small amount, it makes the water acidic in such a way that, when you drink it, it makes the body react by becoming less acidic and more alkaline, which helps prevent infections.

Update: I am now using less water for the water and lemon thing; about 16-20 oz of water and a half of a lemon.
