Come Back To Me, My Love!

Why should I blow out the candles when they were yours to enjoy? I'll still make the cake and prepare a seat for you, but it just won't be the same. It will just be me sitting alone watching the candles burn and the wax run down the sides and onto the icing. Celebrating another year of life seems silly without you, but we're told that life must go on. Keep the yellow ribbon tied to the tree, the porch light on, and enough steak for two. I'll keep your pillow fluffed and your favorite robe layed across the chair. If not in real life, then perhaps in my dreams. Just a visit to let me know you're OK and that you're happy. Missing you might be the death of me if I let it. Come back to me!
