Making Odd Noises

I just spent a fair amount of time watering a budgerigar. I don't mean it's a plant that needs watering, I mean literally giving it water from a container held in my hand, right in front of its little beak, because it won't fly to the other end of the cage itself to drink. Honestly...

Anyway, for some of this time I was happily chatting away at it, in English of course, until I finally gave it up to get back to my work. It was then that I realised that when I speak to it in English, it probably thinks I'm just making odd noises, like I think it is, though it's got a prettier voice than me, when it chirps at me in budgie language.

What am I doing watering a budgie today..? Maybe I'll tell you another time. I'm busy. But it is very rewarding watching a beautiful little creature like that drink.

    This is what they do. They would make all people smile, if people paid attention to the little things they do. Such joy and contentment in their daily activities.

    I remember my childhood days when i used to play..talk..eat with my lil parrot.

      I know they are very intelligent creatures. Partly why I like'em so much :)

      I don't like them in cages. I remember once saying "I wish I could have parrots flying around freely in my garden." I now do. Some years later they started migrating to the UK.
