I'd Rather Smile Than Become Cynical

I just opened an Email from a friend.

Sweet, charming message and at the bottom a couple of lines that just grabbed me.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.

It's about learning  to dance in the rain."

Ok so here's the bottom line     . I can smile and think it's just a cute Ecard or maybe there's a deeper message.

I haven't got a clue how to pull off dancing in the rain...except I need to start somewhere.

Dancing is freedom...dancing is movement...dancing is the opposite of cowering and dread.

And rain? Rain is just water....clean and refreshing....

See ya...got my dancing shoes on...it's time to move..it's .time to feel the rain.

Hi jbfriendonli! Well maybe the problem or problems don't go away but it sure feels better to dance than to grovel in a corner.....

in a real downpour we can dance with an umbrella...*passes out umbrellas to friends!*

So in essence this story tells you what to do in tough times in life..... don't run away, face the problem(storm), make best of the situation(dance) and problem (storm) will go away!!!

Good one, I needed some inspirational story!!!

What made me smile today?? Well your story did!! Thanks...

I think we'd all be much happier if we would just break through some traditional "shoulds" and try new ways of coping and living....I'm all for dancing and singing in the rain and especially the spirit they evoke.! Thanks. :)

Maybe, even if not taken literally, dancing in the rain would be fun. reading your story, I could not help but think of the famous scene from the movie - which is as much about dancing, as singing, in the rain (as the last line acknowledges). Perhaps, we should always do both.

Glad to have you LV...hope you're enjoying yourself! :)

Such an inspiring story,

And I am just complaining about such small drops of rain,

Thank you, I'll get my dancing shoes, and start enjoying the rain

Sweeeet! You were already dancing! Thanks for the warning about lightning bolts! :)

Singing in the rain, smiling through the pain, dancing through a crowd, when all life's in a shrowd, I could hear the unverse call my name, couldn't answer, I was dancing in the rain.

Watch for lightening bolts, they make you skip a beat!

Yay Lauren...me too...join us! :)

Ooooh..."dancing with my shadow under the light of a full moon." Now that Nancy I long to do....hopefully I won't be questioned by the local police as I doubt they would understand. :)

I always make a point to dance in the rain. Another favorite is dancing with my shadow under the light of a full moon.

Hey maybe we can have a nice healing dance?

Really....I'm fine. The only thing that got hurt was my dignity.

Phew ..

Phew...no rescue needed!

Uh oh.......someone help me rescue her! :)

*stands up and dusts self off*

I'm fine.....I meant to do that....It's a new move I've been working on.....

Oh look! There is dear sweet datinka sailing by ..

Ooooops!!

Hope she's ok ..

*grin*

hahahahahaha............

Oh there I *see* you...

oh no did you get hit with the moose poo?

Haha ya know what's great...someone stumbling on to these stories would probably feel we're all certifiable...of course we probably are. :)

I am still dancing dear sweet frito ..

Hahaha well the only solution for that is to duck quickly! or run.............

Hey Tas what happened to the dancing?

Fighting?

Hehehe hey Datura the singing and the dancing were great but I also kinda enjoyed the "fighting" too...of course from a very safe distance. :)

Gee, Frito, I am having such a nice time dancing and singing !

Nooooo now I feel a bit deprived....I've trained myself not to see the ads. :)

Singing is good...helps with the dancing rhythm!

"Singing Hail, Hail, the Gangs All Here...."

Did you notice the ad----------> Latin Dance Shoes!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!

Hi Tasmin...I'll have to google Chrodron. But my gut tells me it's true and we can learn to dance through it (or thrive rather than survive) . Yep, "feel the rain" , feel the air, feel the movement.

Uh oh I'm at a disadvantage here Datura...don't watch Dancing with the Stars....and don't tell anyone I have two left feet....so I don't think you'll be the only one fallin' on their butt.: :)

Wow this is great!!
