Clean Or Pure?

Few people are indifferent to clean air, I think.  That's why I think I'm one of them.

When I arrive at this place in the countryside, miles away from the maddening so-called civilized world, it's the first thing that strikes me.  I get out of the car and my nostrils are caressed by dry Champaign.  Unmistakably an increasingly rare commodity nowadays.

Then I enter the spacious living room of the mediaeval house and light a cigarette.  Nothing as pleasant as to smoke when the air is pure.

Maybe that's what sets me apart: I prefer purity over cleanness.
