Ancient Email Lottery Scam Resurfaces

I recently received this in my hotmail junk mail. I went to look this up and it is a spam scam from last year, coming back. Do not answer this notice. It's a trick, they want money, they aren't giving it away. Most people are smart enough to realize it, but there may be some who would fall for it in their desperation or hope for 'getting rich quick'.

Absolutely. I recall the one AltSource is talking about, too. It made a lot of people think they had 'struck it rich' haha

Thank You, Leisa. These things are not that hard to spot, are they? There are usually spelling and grammatical errors within the first line or two, and then the real nonsense of winning a lottery you have never entered. I believe many are translated from Russian, African, Chinese and Indian languages, and these translations are often clumsy. "You are kindly obliged" in your second email is a good example.<br />

As to the substance of the emails... as a rigid rule, if it sounds too good to be true -it is.

I remember the first time my business partner and I got a "Nigerian Bank" email. We actually believed it at first, then we did some research and found that it was a scam. I think that was in 1993.
