I'll be doing a one month road trip in Australia 2years from now and i'm looking forward to this trip. He's studying there and already has a car and might just use the car to travel all around australia. Can someone give me suggestions on where to start as we'll be starting our journey from Sydney. I know it's pretty early but I would like to estimate the budget so that I can start saving money because I'm currently a student in college. We would like to travel across the whole country. Also, is one month enough? Can't wait!!

One month will probably not be long enough unless you are prepared for a lot of driving. If you start at Sydney and head north there are at least 3000 km's to Cairns or more. I would head west from Rockhampton to see some of the outback country after stopping at Gladstone and getting a standby ticket to Heron Island on the reef for a couple of days. Do plenty of preparation on what you want to see and do rather than most back packers who drink and party.

I forgot to mention i'll be going there with my best friend who's studying there
