Russia, Land of Mysteries!

Reading books is good, I suspect those must have been mostly classics, but they would only produce a reflected idea about a country. You may call it an imaginary idea. I would suggest something real right now and here. I have set up a remote Conversation Club for people learning English. You can join a group of Russian-speaking people who are learning English. We discuss various things, tell stories, and I correct them sometimes when they make mistakes. It may be fun to you and some new experience talking to Russians over the Internet. We use Skype (www.skype.com) for the conversation and a page in a site accessible by everybody so everybody can write there if somebody fails to understand by listening. You are welcome.

So do I. I just don't have your seemingly more profound reasons. The USSR (which -included Russia-) challenged us! They could have _BEATEN US_....



In growing up I always looked at the USSR not as -evil-, but as the -OTHER UNITED STATES-... i had -respect for them-. They could do everything we could do and were also approaching everything -correctly- (whch was DUH! why they were a threat)....



The other day in Georgetown, Washington, DC a guy walked by me wearing a shirt which profoundly read: "COMMUNIST".



Until I encountered Eija-Riitta Berliner-Mauer I still thought that could represent a "good thing".



4 years ago I seriously thought about joining "Communist Party USA" (I think the URL includes 'cpausa' ). I was just looking into the org... Capitalism isn't very good to intellectual eccentric in the US.... Apparently they ddn't meet my needs. Neither did ERBM and osi it seems...

yeah! me too. I will. it's a very big and cultural country that I have to see.
