And Now I Walk, Into The Wild
(This is an actual picture of Christopher McCandless on front of the 'Magic Bus')
Recently, my thoughts and feeling towards life have been changing quite drastically. My feelings towards the world around me has changed, and I have a yearning to experience the world and my natural surroundings.
A lot of this has to do with age I believe, and my discoveries within myself. But it also has to do (in some part at least) to do with the book (by Jon Krakauer) and movie of 'Into the Wild'. I could not reccommend both the book and the movie enough. It has really changed my view on how I look at life, and has flamed a passion for adventure and the outdoors in me.
In saying that, I don't want to do something as drastic as 'Alexander Supertramp'. But I want to be out there. To quote the movie-
"I'm gonna be all the way out there, all the way ******* out there. Just on my own. You know, no ******* watch, no map, no axe, no nothing. No nothing. Just be out there. Just be out there in it. You know, big mountains, rivers, sky, game. Just be out there in it, you know? In the wild!"
That's the sort of thing I want, to experience, to discover, and to enjoy, to escape the comforts of life, "To find yourself at least once in the most ancient of human conditions".
So yes, I do want to walk into the wild.
