Just Two Friends And Back AgainHe pulled up in his old camaro, parked at the end of the driveway and got out. His tee-shirt hanging from the back pocket of his jeans, his hair cut and face shaven, looking better than he had in quite a few weeks. He walked up to her front door, not knowing what to expect, if anything, but he knocked all the same and waited. The dogs barked, letting him know after a few minutes that they were either the only ones home or she wasn't coming to the door. He turned away, went back to the car and and slid his body up on the hood.
Time to wait, just like he always had. Just wait and see if showing up with just himself, a smile, and a platter of fruit will be enough to at least get a roll of her eyes, a sigh, perhaps, and a "fine."
