Health Care Is a

Basic right and not just a privilege for a few. As more and more people lose their jobs and become uninsured, the situation is going to get much, much worse.

Forty-six million Americans are uninsured. That number is increasing every day!

Nine million of them are children.

More than eight out of 10 are in working families.

They are our friends, neighbors and colleagues--forced to gamble every day that they won't get sick or injured.

Living without health insurance is a risk no one should have to take.

Health Care should not be a for profit business. Nobody's health and well being should be based on making a profit. As soon as you enter profit into the equation, in enters greed. Greed for more profits all at the expense of someones health and well being is just not accetable. It has to stop! Health care for all is not socialism, it is not anything but the right thing to do as caring and compassionate citizens of the world!

We need to fight for Universal Health Care for all. We need to do what is right.

But it's GASP! "SOCIALISM!" GASP! Goodness forbid we should take care of our own! We're talking about health care, a basic human right!

That's a great clip I usedto. I know, I know, now we're going to be told if we like it so much, we need to move there!
You are so right, niceguyinhell, and it's totally unconscionable

You are right Mr. Niceguy. Our society is already starting to look like some sort of post apocalyptic movie. This is the way it could be if we ever brought the corporate world in check. In a word it would be a novel type of government that actually (gasp!) served its citizens.
America has always been a day late and a dollar short when it comes to common sense finance (and, in some cases, morality!)

It would be so much cheaper and easier to just eliminate the ridiculous, bloated, corrupt insurance scheme we have in place now and replace it with some kind of universal single-payer system.

We PAY more than anyone else in the world and we get much less than everyone else (Someone mentioned "Iraq" -- we pay more on national defense than the other countries combined!)

Well, at least we're consistent!

i completely agree, jojo! universal health care shouldn't be a question. it should be a reality.

We could have had health insurance for everyone for a fraction of what the War in Iraq has cost us. What bizarre priorities we had for the past eight dark years.

Thank you. It is my hope that everyone would agree with the basic premise of this. Even the people who scream they're against tax and spend. They'd rather borrow and spend instead.
