This is a list for the expansion of your conciousness; you'll notice that there isn't any "NY Times Best-Seller" drivel, but there are 3 Nobel Prize Winners.  A few are just for fun, although even these have fairly deep allegorical meaning.  There are several books by certain authors that probably should have come before books on this list, but these books are much less likely to be known and are just as good, if not better, than the more famous books, so I am recommending these because you've probably already read the others.
