Ten Years Down the Road

Dear future me,

I can't believe you're still alive and kicking, old pal. That by itself is a great accomplishment. I don't know where you are, or how you're doing, or whether you've ever managed to get out of the terrible rut I'm in, but if you've managed to get this far, I'm sure you'll be able to go even farther.

So tell me, how is life in the future? Is it as great as we've all been promised? Or is it the same as things around here? Did you manage to make any new friends in your adulthood? That was an area I always had trouble with; I hope you at least have a stable job with supportive workmates. Tell me, how are my parents doing? Is Mom glad to finally be in a nursing home, or did she already pass on? Did my brothers and my sister make it out of the house? Did any of them get married?

I'm sorry for asking a lot of questions, but you know how I love asking questions more than answering them. I bet you have some questions for me, too. Please write back soon; it's lonely here in the past.
