Dr. Seuss' Stuff

I'm not complaining or putting him down
But Seuss is much Seussier being a clown.
In serious poems there's no made up words
You can't say silly things, real stuff is preferred.
The Doctor'd be hard put to rhyme dragon fights
with desperate maidens and pompous young knights
By using his nonsense like: knightingly stabbed
The flaming green dragon went fliberty-flab
And bounced off the maiden thus lufting her sails
But the knight didn't see, he was trimming his nails.
That just wouldn't do for a vintage quatrain
Acceptance of that would be legerdemain.
