I Am Adopted

I was adopted into a alcoholic dysfunctional family. I grew up being the enabler in the family. When I was 45 I finally accepted the fact that I was abused as a child.

My birth mother came into my life at 36...When my life was falling apart and I was at the beginning of my divorce. My birth mother helped me a lot.

I have learned that while my world have been different had I been brought up by my birth mother, the issues I would have dealt with would have been the same.

A very important thing to remember as we go through life!

A gentleman on a plane once told me that "it's better to pick your family". I am the person I am today because of the choices I made.<br />

Parents give you options and guide lines, you chose the path

I appreciate you saying that. You remind us that it is healthier to focus on what you can do now with your life, instead of lamenting over your circumstances.
