Murder 1

I was tired of having the $hit punched out of me.  Something clicked in my brain that said...."fight back!"  You're not helpless, make this @sshole earn the whipping he's trying to give away.  I began clawing, scratching, punching, kicking.   I picked up the nearest object as I attempted to crawl away.  I knew there was no way I could get the best of him but I wanted to try.  I was on my back, laying on the floor.  He was punching me repeatedly in the face.  Somehow I managed to turn over (he was sitting on top of me) and I attempted to crawl away.  My then 15 year old ran in with a hammer.  His attention moved to him.  I remember getting up and going after him with a vengeance undescribable.   When the police arrived I was badly beaten but arrested non the less.  If I had to do it all over again I would do the same.

I'm sure glad its over now.

wow i have no idea what the police were thinking. probably not.

What a horrifying experience! I am so happy that is in the past and the future looks bright for you and your family.

Life is much better now. I am learning to deal with my reality and not attempt to drink memories away. My son is moving forward in positive directions. He's in college now and working at a fast food restaurant. The emotional scarring will always be here but we are learning to channel accept our past as what it is "the past".

When it comes to survival, there is no blame. I just hope you two are ok!
