Growing Up With Cerebral Palsy

Hi Sandra. It sounds like that on the surface, we have had similar experiences with CP. It seems to me that those of us who can walk, but that have a very obvious walking gait have a range of emotional issues we have to work though that others don't. I personally was so glad I didn't need a wheelchair and could function well enough, but so wished I didn't have to look different when I was young. BUT, I refused the operations that had a chance to make me look "normal" because I could function. I just live my life now. I refuse to take time out of what is a pretty good life and put myself though pain just so someone else could be more comfortable passing me on the street.
