It Was For A Church Variety Show

I was about 44 at the time. I had already started to feel like I wanted to wear women's clothes. I may have once before this dressed as a hooker for Halloween but that may have been after; I'm not sure.

For the Church Variety Show two groups of men were selected/volunteered for different skits. One small group of good singers did Diana Ross and the Supremes. My group did "I Feel Pretty" from West Side Story. The woman organizing the number gave us tapes with the song and dresses. A blue dress. We were supposed to buy stockings ourselves.

I couldn't be satisfied with just the dress and stockings so I also bought panties and a garter belt. That was hard, my first CD purchase. But I went into the shop and bought them. I told what they were for which only made it a little less embarrassing.

I also had a part in a different skit of a construction so I would have to do a quick change. Show time found us "Pretty girls" in a common area backstage putting on out costumes and then later taking them off. I was the only one with a garter belt. During the show I tried hard to let it be seen. Don't know if I succeeded.
